Lampi Marine National Park

Lampi Marine National Park was declared ASEAN Heritage Park in 2003. It protects evergreen and mangrove forests, beaches and dunes, coral reefs, sea grass and a rich biodiversity, with over 1,000 recorded species.

The Lampi Marine National Park covers a group of islands in the Myeik Archipelago in the Tanintharyi region of southern Myanmar. The Myeik Archipelago consists of over 800 islands dotted along 600 kilometres of coastline in the Andaman Sea. The area is covered by tropical evergreen rainforests and is surrounded by an extensive coral reef system.

Turtle Survival Alliance

The Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA) is an action-oriented global partnership that is committed to zero turtle extinctions in the 21st century. To achieve this, the TSA:

• Creates breeding programs, including building facilities, for critically endangered freshwater turtles and tortoises
• Conducts field research
• Develops conservation plans and puts those plans into action
• Promotes conservation awareness among local communities
• Provides support, knowledge, training and resources to conservation partners around the world
• Advocates for greater enforcement of wildlife laws

Oikos Myanmar

We have been operating in Myanmar since 2006, with the aim of improving the conservation of natural resources and strengthening the technical skills of local NGOs.

Myanmar is a country where natural resources are still well-conserved, biodiversity is high and forests cover almost half the national territory. As natural areas are progressively being destroyed under different types of human pressure, it is becoming increasingly urgent to maintain and improve the condition and management of protected areas.
